FFPrototype_sling

Before using material i made a paper one so we could see how it may sit and what it would look like, the prototype is smaller than the paper one as, it needed to be a suitable size for bigger and smaller people to wear, and i didn't want something too over the top

Whilst making the prototype, i realized i'd sewn it wrong but oh well only a mock, so when i do the final one, its will be sewn then folded inside out so we get the crisp edges, as need to get the clip for the back, covering for the ipaq pocket. and put another smaller pocket inside it for, keys or whatever else you wanna put in it.

Also the strap will be something more durable, as at the moment its nylon/Lycra which is too stretchy for the weight of the ipaq.

also there will be cutouts of the logo and a print on the back of the sling, also the strap needs to go inside the body of the sling so it is more durable.

logo on outside and maybe Velcro for the pocket or snaps.

all in all it will be pretty cool when its done.

ok so i went and got more materials from spotlight, omg it was like an old lady war between material and arts and crafts, NEVER go there on a saturday never again

anyway, i got some black waterproof material for the outside shell/ to weather proof it, and a black nylon spandex for inside the pockets

green and white cotton for the logo, and maybe for inside certain pockets.

Group Meeting

We had a group meeting today and have decided to divide up the areas of the project.

-Ashlee is doing the carry cases
-Sam is doing the avatars
-Sophie is doing the web site
-Jeff and Silard are doing the game itself

New concept drawings I'll start this week with sourcing materials and making a prototype and making sure its fully functional for the user.

but from looking from all the new things coming out the design may change by the end of this.

The interface

I should of posted these pictures a while ago, but here is the games interface.

The little IPAQ character at the bottom of the screen is there to guide you and help you get started with the fitness freaks software. Of course this interface has to be as simple to use as possible because of the demographic this game is aimed at, hence I mad the buttons big and also really easy to navigate.

Adidas + Samsung have brought out something like Nike plus but its called Mi coach,
they have collaborated together to make a phone, the phones called the Mi touch,

the phone comes with a heart rate monitor and a step sensor which is a pedometer they connect up to the phone wirelessly.

this is similar to Nike plus where it gives you feedback but there is not virtual avatar, if you don't already have motivation to get out there then why would this make you want to any less than the Nike plus

it gives your heart rate, calories etc, no bmi though the ad looks cool though
but the phoen is cheap looking and not up to other standards for a phone.
